The Upside of Acne

You may be thinking, "This title has to be a mistake! There can't possibly be an upside to acne!" I have had my own struggle with acne for over 10 years now, and it can get incredibly frustrating. I have tried many product lines, internal treatments and so more with some major success, but hormones and other factors often leave me with the occasional breakout. But really, there is an upside if just like me, you struggle with acne!

After years working with clients with acne, and having it myself there is one thing that I have found to be true. Those with acne prone skin will often have the best skin in their adult years! Now you may be saying "I am an adult with acne!" This may be true, but you most likely won't have it forever. And once your acne battles have passed, you'll be left with great skin! Why? Will you sleep with makeup on? Nope, you'd never dare. You'll be so set in your routines from the past. Will you miss a facial? Probably not, because you'll so enjoy your "me" time, and be pushing forward to help your skin along the path it is now on to be radiant, ageless and beautiful!!

On the flip side, I have met many people (some of my friends included!) that have never had any problems with their skin, and therefore hardly take care of it. And you know what? In many cases it will probably show up once they are in their 40's with premature wrinkles and dullness. Then they will be trying to figure out this whole skincare thing, when you've already got it down pat! Getting into good skincare habits whether you have good skin or bad skin in your opinion right now will last a lifetime, and the rewards will pay off!

Note: Of course, not all types of acne are equal and those who experience severe acne can be left with scarring and indents as a result of it into their adult years. Usually, long term retinols and resurfacing products will help though! If this is you, start using some ASAP!

Acne is a tough battle, but can be won! If you are having trouble with acne and your own skin, talk to me! I am here to help, even if it's just to answer a few questions. I am your skincare practitioner and want to be here to help you with all of your skincare needs whenever I can.

To happy, healthy skin!
