Most Googled Beauty Product of 2017 so far!

Charcoal and sheet masks were big last year, and they're not going away. But clay is getting a lot of search on google so far this year.

Clay is an amazing ingredient and it has so many skin care benefits! There are multiple types of clay but two of the most popular and beneficial are bentonite clay and kaolin clay. Also in a similar family is hungarian mud.

Bentonite Clay. This is a very popular clay that many use to address acne. Because of its super absorbing capabilities, this is a great clay for oily skin since it can suck up excess sebum easily. Not only that, but it has electric properties that when mixed with water makes the molecules charged and attracts toxins out of your face and to the clay kind of like a magnet. This also goes for any skin ailments involving bacteria and fungus (also impurities) like psoriasis and eczema. Since bentonite clay swells when mixed with water, making it a highly porous substance, it can absorb more than its initial mass, including any swelling from excess sodium in your face. With its tightening, acne-clearing, and impurity-absorbing abilities, you can probably tell why bentonite is a go-to for any skin concerns. Kaolin Clay. White kaolin clay is the gentlest of kaolin clays and has similar properties to bentonite, but isn't as strong. Thus it's great for sensitive dry skin. This is a great addition for acne/detoxifying masks for the face or body.

Both of these clays are in multiple AND face masks!

Hungarian Mud. This mud contains high amounts of mineral trace elements and sulfur to nourish problem skin. It balances sebum production, reduces and prevents future breakouts, provides a deep cleanse to lift away even the deepest of impurities. I retail Hungarian Mud powder that you can easily be mixed with water or a toner to treat your skin!
