How I Travel With My Skin Care!

Recently I went to Arizona to visit my sister and brother-in-law. Let me tell you, I am NOT a light packer. I just never know what I'm going to need, or what I'll feel like wearing next Friday! Since meeting my husband, that has slowly had to change a bit. Never did I think we could both pack in ONE suitcase for a whole week! (Yes, there is some sarcasm here.) But seriously, I don't spend a ton of time on my skin care regimen (probably surprising to you!) in my daily life, and I spend a little less time on a trip as well.

Years ago I would often travel with full size products, or end up having travel bottles that would crack from use, traveling, or dry out my products in days. I have been on a couple trips in the past year and I really feel like I have it all mastered now. I know we're coming up on cruise and winter vacation season, so I'm here to share my tips!

For cleansers:

Until recently I would usually cut off a small piece of my cleansing bar and keep it in an empty product jar when traveling. This is still a great option but now A Natural Difference offers mini travel sizes of the Cranberry Foaming Wash among a few others that is a 2 oz bottle. It's refillable and has went with me all year!

For Exfoliants, Moisturizers and Masques:

Did you know that when flying an airplane has about 10% humidity? It's quite common to have dehydrated skin after flying which can often cause skin issues for days to come. When I'm traveling I like to keep my exfoliants, hydrating masques and my mini Jane Iredale setting spray close. It can not only set my makeup, but double as an in-flight hydrating boost for my skin! I have not to date been one of the brave souls that uses a mask on the plane, but I almost always do at night. I have found these containers below to be the best fit for me. Since they are not clear I label them with a sharpie, which easily wipes off when I want to use the container for a different product.

Twice as large in size (0.5 oz) are these soft silicone containers which I really like as well. They're just almost twice as expensive, for half the amount of containers. If I need skincare for a week, I'm hardly half filling the .25 oz containers.

For Hair Care:

I LOVE these soft silicone 3 oz bottles. Not only can you get every drop out but I haven't had any leaking problems and they obviously won't explode like a normal plastic bottle would. The top is in two pieces so you can easily pour product inside, and it makes for easy cleaning when changing products.

For Sunscreen:

I tend to use my Jane Iredale Powder Me SPF 30 in the Retractable Brush, and take all of my original container Coola products. Like 4 bottles of it just incase!

At the end of the day I still travel with everything in a sealed plastic bag. One for skincare, one for hair care and one for sunscreen or body care. I try to keep it all in a makeup bag with a bunch of other things, but it doesn't always all fit! I recently discovered this water resistant bag that I'm going to be getting. I have ruined so many makeup bags from water or leaked products!

I hope you found this helpful!
